I love juices. I usually have one daily to have with my green AM powder, so I get all my daily fruits and veggies for the day. It gets a little boring having orange juice every day, so I wanted to experiment and create some healthy juice recipes!
So here are 7 healthy juices:
2 star fruits
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger root
1 ¼ lemons
Star fruit has a great amount nutrients and has a high fiber content. Ginger is also part of our must have herbs and spices. It has anti-inflammatory properties and is known to help soothe and relax your intestinal tract.
1 medium Apple
2 tbsps. of raw, unfiltered, organic Apple cider Vinegar
1 tbsp. of Lemon juice
1 tsp of ground Cinnamon
354ml Filtered Water
Simply slice your apples and feed through your juicer. Blend everything else together for about ten seconds and then combine the two.
Doesn’t this sound like an apple pie?! No? Well it does to me! Apple + Cinnamon mmm…I love that combination. So everyone knows apple cider vinegar has a whole list of benefits. Some people have a shot of ACV daily!
450 grams of carrots
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
1 orange, peeled
1 lemon, peeled
Juice all ingredients.
3 cups Filtered water
1 cup lemon juice
2 tsp honey
In a microwave safe bowl, combine 1 cup of water and honey. Heat until honey is dissolved. Let it cool. Juice mango and combine with lemon juice, water and the honey mixture into a large pitcher. Stir until well mixed. Serve with ice and garnish with mint.
1 Large Beetroot
½ a Lemon
Water to dilute
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, peeled.
Juice everything together and use water to dilute to desired preference.
The benefits of beetroot are amazing. From fighting stress, to aiding digestion, speeding up metabolism and helping with menstrual pains, this is one awesome veggie.
Beet & Berry Liver Cleanse
Taken from Bare Root Girl, this looked like an amazing juice to try
2 medium beets
2 c. blueberries
2 large carrots
1/2 c. raw broccoli
1 whole lemon
2″ knob ginger, skin removed
1/2-1 c. pure coconut water
Chop beets, apples, carrots, lemon, and ginger into 1″ cubes. Feed through your juicer, alternating small amounts of blueberries between the other ingredients. Midway through, pour a portion of coconut water through (1/4-1/2 c.) to help clean and push pulp through. Continue feeding everything through, finishing with enough coconut water to bring the juice to a total of 4 cups.
Serve with ice or drink at room temperature. Nutrients are most available within hours of juicing so drink right away!
Ok so something you must know about me… I haaaaaate celery. Oh god it tastes so bad. BUT a lot of people in my family love it, so I decided to add in one of their favorite mixes. Drink up!
Also, I’m helping to create a book called Spice of Life: Recipes & Remedies. It’s so exciting and I can’t wait for the book to be published and exhibited at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2015! You’ll be able to get so many healthy recipes from it, as well as lots of Asian cuisine as it’s made in Brunei Darussalam. The book has actually been my inspiration to use the kitchen more. I’ll be posting some sneak peaks of my favorite recipes from the book so stay tuned for that!
Anyone have any juice recipes for me to try?! Or any healthy recipe for that matter. Tell me in the comments section below!
